When rinkle and I were setting up hurt_don, we knew we needed an appropriate icon for the comm and thus I made several from The Fifth Man and then let Rinne pick her favorite

Since it's been so long since I made these icons, I can't quite remember what I was thinking/attempting when I made all of these.
Number 6 is obviously the one Rinne liked best as that's the icon we use on the comm now. My personal favorites were 2, 6 & 10.
Mostly I was just toying with the images I had and the different settings on Photoshop Elements. While doing so, I realized exactly how much of the software I've forgotten as I used to make a lot more (and nicer!) things in the other fandoms I've been active in.

I pick number 6 as the best as well.
Photoshop can be so addictive.
Have't tried doing an image overlay before. Looks interesting. I'll have to give it a go.
Made this icon *points* from a photograph I took from an aeroplane of rainbow affect surrounding the shadow of the plane on some cloud below (tweaked and colour saturated to make the icon).

Hee hee, sometimes simple is better, but my favorite fan art is normally blended photos. But then, sometimes people like you come along with a simple, but fantastic, concept like your Don-in-the-crosshairs thing. :)
Ooo, that icon is pretty. I really need to get back into Photoshop. I'm really quite happy with some of the stuff I made for Star Wars and Harry Potter. Not sure why I haven't gotten more into it in this fandom, especially since we have far more material to work with than either of the other fandoms.
