Wow, I almost missed the deadline, not because I wasn't done in time, but because I completely forgot about this challenge! For once, I started and finished a fic for this challenge early, I was done a full 20 days ago! And it's short... well, for me anyways.

Yeah, I know, unbelievable.

Anyway, sorry for all but disappearing on you guys lately. See, what happened is, while I was in the States, one of my friends gave me the first four seasons of Supernatural, a show I most definitely had heard about and knew I'd like, but which I'd resisted getting drawn into because A) there was a heck of a lot to catch up on & B) I knew it wouldn't be pretty if I got sucked into it. And guess what? Yep, I was right on both counts. Not that I'm not glad I've been swallowed whole by a new show, but it's the reason why I've completely vanished ( ... )

Hi!

I was wondering where you'd vanished to and was about to send some bunnies on a hunt to find you.

Now that I know where you were I'm glad to hear you're not planning on jumping ship. Although the occasional crossover could be good, we need more Don v Dean.

Cheers!

Yep, that's me with a new fandom, :)
It's why I avoided this one for so very long, though I caved pretty damn quickly when presented with the opportunity to see the whole series in order.

Yes, more Don v. Dean or just Don & Dean would be nice. But I can't think of that now. NaNo starts at midnight tonight and while I had a great original idea all planned out, now one of my vampire original ideas is clammoring for attention so I need to choose. Oh, and finish the ficlet for the Don/Robin comm and the prequel to Destination Nightmare not to mention the last to chapters of IaMD!

Busy, busy.

Oh, and don't forget the one with 'L'. You've kinda left me hanging here...

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it as I'm still a little indifferent. I never would have thought that I'd write this particular pairing, but the bunny just came to me. That's why I like the Write-Off so much, it inspires all kinds of fics I never would have thought of otherwise.

Yes, that is a problem with N3, isn't it? It's such a very small fandom. Not at all like SPN which is far larger than I currently have time to look into, what with NaNo starting tonight and all. Really bad timing on my part.

Love it...

This was so beautiful teetering on the edge of just being incredibly painful and beautiful, and you managed to walk that line wonderfully :)

The insight into Don and what was going with him at that time is something that, to my recollection, was attempted once before, and badly so... This is perfect, seriously... The characters are down pat and I'm just sooooo delighted with this :)

Wow, I'm pretty surprised by this as I seriously considered trashing it and starting afresh with something else completely for a bit right after I wrote this.

Glad I didn't if people like it so.

poor Don.

just wondering...has anyone written Kim's side?

very painful, and most definately the wrong time to get that letter.

{mind you, this fic is exceedingly well written - which is why it hurts}

Yeah, the poor guy just can't catch a break. As far as I can remember it isn't per se canon that Kim breaks it off at this point, but I don't see much wiggle room. I think it happened after Don started coming back to LA, so it's either during Margaret's illness or after her funeral.

No, as far as I'm aware, no one has done Kim's side. I can't really see how you'd do much with it, though, as we really just don't have enough of her to do it justice I think.

Thanks for commenting.

I think I'll give it a try - which season do you suggest I focus my search?

I'm happy to comment, and even happier to be replied to.
(yes, I'm easy)

Season 1, that's where the only episode with Kim was and I don't think Don's engagement has really been brought up since that season.

I look forward to what you manage to find and/or write. Let me know?
