It has been suggested to me to log my cooking triumphs and failures and I thought, that's a fantastic idea!  So here's an entry on all things cooking related...

I've joked that South Africa is keeping me on a diet.  Fast food is a very rare find here (McDonalds and KFCs can be found and I had Subway today, although it was fairly disappointing) so I

There's butter lettuce here... Though maybe not at the regular grocery stores as much. We find it at a smaller market.

adventures in cooking! sounds kind of fun, but I can imagine it is tiresome as well.

I <3 butter lettuce, and we alternate between spring mix style salads and butter lettuce salads. We can find it pretty much everywhere!

Weird. Maybe I've just never looked for it as at home, I love baby spinach and arugula? Hmmm. Regardless, butter lettuce is phenomenal (and so cheap!).
