I read my e-mail again and noticed that the 50 euro fee includes the postage, so it's probably cheaper for you if you live in Australia, probably something like 40 euro. Ask her : ruthcullen@iprimus.com.au

This is a very beautiful book... my lovely man brought one for me for our anniversary a few years back (strangly enough the auction expired on the same date as our anniversary). He had got it on ebay and had to keep bidding to the last minute to get it for me (what a sweetheart). I'm not sure what it cost but I was worried that it wouldn't arrive safely.

I first saw the book over a decade ago at a picture framers in Western Australia. The owner had been given a copy by a family friend of Vali's (if I remember rightly). I had seen the tightrope dancer as a teenager and been entranced by Vali and her unusual life. The book shows more of her work than I had been able to find anywhere else.

I wasorking in Chapel St, Sth Yarra, Melbourne, in late 80's - I went into a discount bookshop & saw a stack of this book on sale for $10 each... never knew of Vali then, but liked the pictures, so bought a copy (only one as I was un-employed at the time). In 1993 I got to meet Vali herself & she signed my copy. Vali was sooooo sweet. If only I known - I would have got copies for my friends too. Just goes to show opportunites are there, if only you realise the potential.
