A Short Icon Challenge

So, last year I gave lady_wyn a list of 10 prompts, and she reciprocated by sending me a list of 10 prompts. I got about half done before the spring semester started, and then finished the rest after the semester had ended. This was my first 'challenge' by pretty much any standards (unless you count trying to fill requests...), and I did rather have fun ( Read more... )

With barely looking at the tags. (Actually not looking, my eyes accidentally saw one).

I believe the fandoms are: BBC Merlin (1 and 2), Doctor Who (4 and 9), Final Fantasy?? (5), Avatar the Last Air-Bender Animated (7 and 9), and Ella Enchanted??? (8). My guesses. :)

You're partially right! :) You're right about Merlin, 4 and Alt. 9 are Doctor Who, and 9 is Avatar: The Last Airbender. You're wrong about 5, 7, and 8, though. (Mel called 5 & 7, and she was the only one I was really expecting to know what they were, so don't worry!) Thanks for guessing! :)

1 - Merlin
4 - Dr. Who
5 - FMA
6 - Merlin
7 - FMA
8 - I have no idea, but she reminds me of the lady who plays the lady in Secret of Moonacre (I can't remember her name, but she's Sir Benjamin's old flame...)
9 - Avatar the Last Airbender
10 - Cinderella?

alt
7 - Howl's Moving Castle
9 - Dr. Who

First off, I love the quote in your avatar! :D That is such a fun part of HMC (then again, what isn't?). :)

You're right about everything besides 6 and 10 (and 8, but you didn't actually guess that one). :)

I'm going to hold off on 10 (and 6) for a little bit, just to see if anyone else can guess right, but 8 is actually from Merlin and the actress is Sarah Parrish. Not having seen The Secret of Moonacre, I'm not sure who you're referring to, but I didn't see Sarah Parrish in the IMDb credits for it (which have been wrong before, though). Did you like the film? (And what exactly is it about?)

Well, for never having seen either Dr. Who or Merlin I'd say I did pretty OK. Lol. And I don't think there was any part of HMC that's not fun. ;)

I've never seen the film; it's based on a book my sisters and I enjoyed reading called The Little White Horse. It's a very sugary book about a little girl named Maria who goes to live with her uncle and makes friends with an ancient enemy of the family and so on. I obsessed over collecting screen caps for it because it looks gorgeous and reminds me of how I'd like any movie of The Bell at Sealey Head to be costumed.

Here is why the avatar made me think of it. :-)

Oh, no, I never meant to say you didn't do well! You did. :D Very true! It's pretty much just a fun adventure all around. :)

Ah, okay. The title sounds familiar---has it been talked about in the Books thread before? Ooh, yes, it does look very lovely. :) Oh! Is it about the right time period for The Bell of Sealey Head? That's great. :D

I can see the resemblance! :D But the character in your picture definitely looks nicer than the character in mine (who is actually a troll in disguise). ;)
