Well, I have been reading "The Triumph of the Therapeutic" by Philip Rieff. Currently I am stuck in the doldrums, but I can't quit now because I am already 100 pages in. Right now it is all about Freud and what a genius he is. I shouldn't get so down on it, though; the book did have some pretty great parts so far.

I'm not going to stop. I have a list of books i read, and it's such an incentive to keep going. Anyway I am going to power through and get to the sequel, "Fellow Teachers" because I hear that's the really good one.

The only book I quit on recently was a book of theology by Karl Rahner... I stopped after 100 pages and it was painful, but the book was just.. too.... hard....

yeah, some of the writing really delighted me. it's great stuff. but yeah, i really underestimated how upsetting the plot would be.
