IMHO, you cannot go wrong with a Sony Cyber-shot. The only kicker is that the memory card it comes with is good for, oh, 8 pictures. You gotta spend extra for a 1- or 2-gig card.

i have a casio camera and it takes the sandisk. it's 3-4 years old so i don't exactly know whats available out there now, but mine works really well. it was about $250 then.

i always buy stuff from best buy and i don't see a problem with their prices.

I know a few people with Canon's including myself...all good. My sis has a sony cybershot and loves it. The Sony might be a little more user friendly. I bet you could get a pretty nice 4-5 MP digi cam with video for $175. Definitely get the 1Gb or higher card...they are less than $20. If you start taking video (which believe me can be very fun) you'll need it.

As for where, I'd just pick out the one you want first and then price shop at Worst Buy, Circuit Shitty, etc.
