Why do they call it downtown, anyway? Have you ever wondered about that? Is there an uptown? Why don't they call it uptown, instead? It's usually a lot nicer than the rest of the city, except for the rich district, or whatever they call that. Is the rich district uptown? If we have a downtown, where's midtown? What's the difference between downtown, uptown, and midtown? Where are the lines drawn? Who decided this street was downtown and that street wasn't? Who picked the names? I wonder what person went, "Hey let's call this place downtown!" He must've been a really smart guy if he thought of all this.
