Mod Post: Amnesty Week and Poll

It's the last week of January, so that means it's amnesty week. Any of the previous prompts, found in the community memories, are open for story submission.

Which brings me to the poll.

valleyofthemuse has been running for almost a year now, and I wanted to get everyones feedback on a few things.

I will never be able to keep up with a story a week, but I like having prompts weekly. I knew why, but then I visited fandom wank and I've forgotten again. I'm sorry. I think it was to do with liking the variety and each week making me think. Yup, that sounds right.

I'm used to seeing weekly prompts on different comms - my worry is that if it's less than once a week, they will be easily forgotten.

I think I just need to re-evaluate my personal goal of writing every single prompt.

lots of prompts is good; you obviously don't have any obligation to do every one and continued amnesty allows ideas to be bounced around more; if you read something someone else posts and it gives you an idea (that wouldn't be plagiarizing blatantly) it sucks having to wait.
also, maybe in the prompt discussion and questions concerning the prompt should be encouraged.

I'd love discussion of prompts - I try to come up with prompts that can be interpreted in different ways. I'm not very good at starting discussions though.

Hmmm...that does give me an idea for a prompt though...

um, you can write a story anytime then just save it on your harddrive or journal until amnesty week :p
