   "You're a mess," someone said to me yesterday.
   A comment like this normally wouldn't upset me. It's less offensive than it is self-evident. What's twisted is that I'm amused by all this.

Amusement is the sanest reaction to mental illness.

One encounters the most interesting people when one enters "Lyme disease" in the search field.

Your writing suggests, at the least, a passing familiarity with the writings of Epictetus. Should you have been deprived of his most rational summation of the school of Stoic thought, it might behoove you to seek it out. Though I've only read the above post of yours, and skimmed some others, I see evidence of enlightenment. Forgive the (sanctimonious?) plug, please.

Good luck to you in receiving a stocking full of painkillers! I, personally, ask for diplomatic immunity every year. Needless to say, I have grown accustomed to an annual disappointment.
