right on! revenge on JOE! loved how he "...drove backwards in a furious cloud of dirt and gravel..." heh. smiled so many times with this, and the notion that the two of them are back together again is way sweet... i can hope that the heartbreak that lay ahead isn't for certain, can't i?

This is intended as a one-shot, so the heartbreak I'm referring to is the heartbreak in the real Annie Proulx story (even though this piece veers off from her storyline).
