¡El Código Da Vinci e más!

I finally got off my ass the other day and went looking for a job. It makes me sad that I've been without a job for about 5 months now, and I was really proud of myself because I spent over 6 hours straight on Friday getting applications, talking to managers, and filling forms out. It was rather exhausting, but I treated myself to some yummy yummy ( Read more... )

With the exception of Tom Hanks, I thought the casting was great...

It's not that i think he's a bad actor, i just thought that statement was funny.

Haha, I guess that's a bit of a contradiction. "The casting is great, except for the lead actor." ...I see what you mean lol.

And I think he's a great actor, but he just wasn't so hot in this one.

I loved the book, so I'm kinda scared that the movie is gonna be sub-par...but the book's still awesome.

I think that most movies based from books are never going to live up the standard that was set by the book. They're two totally different mediums, and that's the problem I have with these kinds of movies. One part of me wants to just enjoy it as a movie...but another part is constantly ripping it apart for not being completely like the book.I kind of hate the Harry Potter movies for this reason....well except for Viktor Krum in Goblet of Fire. I have more than a crush on him lol :)

But you check the movie out just to see how it compares to how you view the characters, settings, and all that. I find it interesting to see other people's takes on the same material.

*glomps back* And Happy Birthday again!

Well, he IS Viktor Crum, after all...though I'm partial to Oliver Wood myself. ^_~

I can understand why directors make shortcuts when they convert books into film. Me, being the Lord of the Rings fanatic (I mean, I read it 12 times. The WHOLE series) , am diappointed that they didn't have all the details of the movies right...though I understand if they did, each movie would be, like, a week long. And I can't sit still THAT long.

Thank you again! ^_^

I totally get what you mean. I've read each Harry Potter book 5 times (not counting the newest one), so I understand how you feel. And you're right about the length of the movies if they included EVERYTHING from the books...it's just that certain movies kinda need that detail, I think, if they're based off of books with a lot of pages. Goblet of Fire is definitely one example of a movie that needed more detail, I think. It was so incredibly rushed. On the flip side, I kinda thought there was too much detail in the LOTR movies, and there were sorta boring to me :( But I've never read the books, so I can't make a fair judgement. I guess it's just up to the film-makers

Ah well, the books are always going to be better to me :P

And I'm totally with you on the Oliver Wood deal. The biggest mistake in those movies was not bringing him back after the Sorcerer's Stone. His accent was so dreamy lol.

Aw, thank ya much Tracy :) Mogadore gets all lonely here too *tear* We'll have to get lunch or something soon. I can't go on without some Tracy craziness!

I basically just called you when I was stumped about your last name again lol. I'll have to log that in somewhere. Or, like, stamp it to my forehead... But I guess that'd be hard for me to see then, and then if I did see it it would be all backwards and whatnot.

What to do? What to do?
