Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Eric is a vampire, and has a lot more in common with Dracula than Buffy's common foes. As well as a link that explains them in further detail,
here, his abilities and weakness are detailed below:
Abilities
Glamour
Vampires have the ability to implant suggestions, keep people quiet and obedient, make them tell the truth, do things, or make people forget things. They have an exceedingly strong manipulative ability, so long as its practiced over years, however it only works on humans without psychic abilities.
Senses
Vampires have extremely powerful eyesight, hearing and sense of smell. Eric can smell blood at a distance, hear whispered conversations through walls, and see in near-darkness, like any night predator.
Flight
This is a rarer ability for vampires, as it comes with age. Eric can fly and levitate, and uses the power almost to impress people, as though he recently learned how to do it himself.
Blood sucking/Conversion
Vampires can draw their teeth at will, or when struck by emotion, fear or suddenly catching the smell of blood. They drive their teeth into any vein, and draw blood extremely quickly - it takes maybe two minutes to completely drain a human, depending on the hunger of the vampire/if they're grieviously injured etc. Vampires can convert humans into other vampires by feeding them their blood when they reach the point of death, then being buried with them underground.
Healing
Vampires can heal extremely quickly, but the speed is greatly increased by drinking human blood. A vampire would recover eventually from even the worst injuries, but even something that may take months to heal heals quickly after drinking blood. As vampires do not need air and are essentially already dead, death from suffocation and the like is impossible, and vampires can survive for thousands of years buried in rock or concrete without dying. Vampires can also speed up their healing by burying themselves underground.
Superspeed
Vampires are so fast that they appear as a blur to any human watching them, and the older the vampire is the faster they can move.
Superstrength
The older the vampire, the stronger it is. Eric is capable of tearing a human being physically in half, or throwing them across a room.
Emotional telepathy/progeny bond
Vampires are empathic with their makers, and can feel their distress or a call through their bond. This is the relationship that Eric has with Pam, and he can call her to help him when he needs her.
Anti-psychic
Vampires do not give off any thoughts, as they have no brain waves and are essentially dead. This makes them resistant to psychics and telepaths, anything that relies on the mind for power. Not sure about voids.
Weaknesses
Invitation/banishment
A vampire must be invited into a home in order to enter it. The owner of the home can also banish a vampire by recinding the invitation. However the homes of dead people, other vampires or public spaces do not require an invitation. A vampire has to be invited back into their own home if they're killed.
Silver (mirrors, photo development, film)
Vampires are extremely responsive to silver, since it burns them. It can incapacitate whole limbs, and even a thin chain can incapacitate or paralyse a vampire. The effect is accumulative. Silver in the blood stream is eventually sweated out, but silver sprayed on the skin in a suspension can also maim and disfigure, and if sprayed into the eyes cause temporary blindness. Vampires once couldn't be seen on film or in mirrors, and therefore disappeared in photographs, however silver is no longer used in mirrors, and digital film doesn't use silver nitrate, meaning that vampires are once more visible.
Daylight
Vampires exposed to daylight do not die instantly, but after some exposure. The older the vampire the faster they burn, and if exposed to Fae blood they can survive in the sun for longer. Vampires also need to sleep during the day, otherwise they begin to bleed spontenously, as the magic supporting their body doesn't seem to be able to work during the day.
Wooden stake
Vampires can be killed by a wooden stake, bullet or other wooden object through the heart.
Fire
Vampires can be set on fire, and if not put out can burn and die completely, though otherwise this can be healed like any other injury. They seem to be extremely flammable.
Further, Eric's blood (as all vampires in the True Blood franchise) has certain qualities.
Properties of his blood:
Hallucinagenic
Much like a drug, and sold as one in the True Blood universe as 'V', vampire blood is prized as a hallucinagenic, though its side effects are extreme paranoia and addiction. The trip can be different every time, sometimes potently wonderful out of body experiences etc., but equally it can be terrifying, such as a powerful and enduring nightmare from which there seems to be no escape, even when the main effects seem to have worn off. The trip has a semi-telepathic quality, meaning that those using V together can have the same experience.
Healing
Vampire blood can be used to heal humans and is extremely potent. A few drops can bring a human back from life threatening injuries which would otherwise leave them hospitalised or dead, or it can be used to heal on the surface simply by smoothing blood over the wound.
Transmitted strength/speed/stamina
Vampire blood can be used as an undetectable performance enhancer due to its powerful effects, transmitting a certain superhuman physical ability to the one taking it, though also it has a habit of strengthening and deepening powerful emotions such as aggression, jealousy, and paranoia. It can cause users to be violent or careless, put others lives at risk, and because of its addictiveness can cause the user to go to extreme lengths to get more, almost from the first use. It is exceptionally potent, also, for werewolves.
Stimulating
V is used much like viagra, only much more effectively since its healing qualities also act against age and other infirmities. It has been shown to cause those who are intimate under its effects to almost share each others' experiences, combined with the hallucinagenic and empowering effects of the drug.
Blood tie/bonding
Vampires who cause a human to drink their blood from them have a blood tie to that human, meaning that they can feel and locate them whenever they want. Both Eric and Bill have a blood tie like this with Sookie--both from tricking her into it. As a result, they can feel when she is in danger and go straight to her.

Character Personality:
As a vampire, Eric is subject to a number of personality traits which he has had to master and control over his years. He has been shown to be callous in regard to the feelings of most humans, even those in his employ, especially when in a sour mood, and seems to distrust and dislike other vampires in general unless they can be of use for some reason. He would sooner destroy them entirely than be forced into competition with them, especially when it comes to Sookie.
Even so, there is a deep human element to Eric, and his past growing up as a young Viking has a great effect on him even now. His life was saved - or rather taken, though he was already dying - by the vampire Godric, a vampire than he idolised and followed closely for over a thousand years, and only recently did Eric break away to make a vampire of his own; Pam. His relationship with his maker was perhaps key in teaching him to control his hungers and passions, being a vampire who would always preach forgiveness and gentleness in everything that they did together, unlike the many of the other vampires shown in the series. Yet even as recently as sixty years ago, Eric has been shown to lose his temper when emotions are running high, or in the middle of a fight. He does so far less than other vampires, and it startles those around him more for that precise reaon.
Recently, Eric has begun to second guess Godric, who appeared to tell him to forgive Russell and looked on in pain as Eric buried him in concrete; something Eric did to protect himself as much as Sookie. This suggests he's willing to go to any end to get what he wants, even if it means betraying the only vampire that, previously, he was willing to lay down his life for.
Eric loves his childe very much, and when she is danger or pain he does show signs that his judgement might be clouded, or tempered by his concern for her. However, he trusts and respects her despite his protectiveness, knowing that they understand each other without necessarily speaking out loud. Pam seems to love Eric deeply, suggesting the bond between them is much like Eric's bond with Godric, and though she's a lot more vampiric, with strong feelings of protectiveness and jealousy that push her to do things he wouldn't necessarily agree with, he is generally there as the temperate, guiding hand of experience.
Throughout his years, Eric has been driven by a desire to find the one responsible for murdering his human family and leaving him as the last survivor. Consumed by this revenge, which has had more than a thousand years to boil and thicken, and as a result is very far beyond human, Eric is capable of doing things which would otherwise be suicidal, his good sense going out the window. He kills the much loved childe of a three thousand year old vampire, even knowing that the heartbroken - and much more powerful - vampire will come after him, and that is strictly against vampire law (though vampire law doesn't seem to matter to him as much as others, as he sells V - vampire blood, and strictly forbidden due to its attributes - for the vampire Queen of the state of Louisiana regardless).
Eric can seem erratic at times, particularly when his feelings for Sookie are involved. As a vampire, he seems driven not to be consumed by such humanity, but what comes across is a man who is very much in love but in denial, added to the pure violence that only a vampire's mood swings can have. His relationship with Sookie began as pure desire - for one thing, Sookie as a telepath and a fae can not be glamoured, which meant that he was forced to cooperate with her without manipulating her - this meant he had to earn her respect, something he has discovered is much harder than he realised, and he developed something of a fascination, even a passion for her very quickly, long before he ever tasted her blood (which is supposed to be like ambrosia for vampires). However his passion does disguise a selfishness, as most things that Eric does come hand in hand with a deeper, more complicated purpose, and usually something self serving. This is why his clear honesty in everything is so often doubted by those around him.
An excellent actor, or perhaps simply a strategist and an opportunist, Eric throws his entire weight behind his action, so that his loyalties cannot be doubted, even when it means hurting the things and people he loves, or putting himself in a position that it may seem hard to come back from. He even betrays his own queen - whom he had pledged loyalty to - to preserve the act he has with the King of Mississippi, simply so he can earn the opportunity to take his revenge for his family's murder. However, Eric never gives up, not even when it seems the entire vampire world may be turned against him, and it is perhaps this desire to survive that has kept him alive this long. Eric has a thirst for life which is wholly human, and applies himself to it with vampiric stamina and dedication. He would never give up on life--though at one point, when Godric is commited to burning in the sun, Eric says - in tears - that he will join him. Godric commands otherwise.
As Eric has lived so long, he has seen empires rise and fall, technology change, and people multiply and as a result is extremely patient, intelligent and capable of making detailed plans. He's also capable of making these plans extremely quickly, under considerable pressure. Where once vampires were lore, he's also had to adapt to the publicising of the vampire presence, with both its pros and cons, and seems to have done so easily, opening a vampire bar deliberately targeted toward humans who want to meet vampires and the vampires that want to feed on them.
Eric can be extremely cruel, careless of people's emotions, though when it comes to those he loves this carelessness does seem to fracture slightly, no matter his deliberate efforts to conceal it and appear more cold. As much as he tries to show his softer side, particularly to Sookie, the moment he seems to realise he's doing it he closes up again, giving his feelings a very inconstant appearance to the subjects of them. He seems to honestly despise his own weakness, or his attachments to fragile things, as vampires live forever, and humans all eventually expire. Turning them into vampires isn't the answer, and Eric is clearly aware that he will get hurt if he falls in love with a human, thus the inner turmoil. This doesn't stop him from trying, like a moth to the flame. He is, however, extremely honest in almost everything he does, and even his lies sound like the truth.
Finally, Eric has a passion for the human body, in more than just drinking blood. He seems to enjoy its fragility, and takes his time when it comes to intimacy, as a human might, rather than using his powers the way other vampires do in the bedroom. He can be found for hours in his dungeon with women, but favours those who remind him of home, particularly when he's feeling nostalgic. In this, he's extremely adventurous, a demonstration of his passion for life.
Eric has an excellent sense of humour, if sometimes dry.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: Eric will probably sell V in game and try and get his vampire club back up and running. I also want to get him involved with the Port's coven, though probably in a condescending sort of way. At some point he'll probably get kidnapped by addicts.
Appearance/PB: Tall, pale, blond, and handsome.

Good evening, Siren's Port.
[Eric appears on video, his phone on a table in the apartments, his hands folded in front of him, looking for all the world as though he's addressing something far more official.]
I've already taken account of where I am, and why, so there will be no need for repeated explanations. By now you must be tired of giving them, so I'll cut to the chase. My name is Eric, and for reasons I'd rather not disclose, I'd very much like to know anything that any of you can tell me of the vampire covens in the city, as well as anything else supernatural you can think of. I'd also like to speak to anyone who knew a former resident of this place; a Miss Sookie Stackhouse.
Third Person Sample
Someone had had the good sense to bring Eric here at night, right in the middle of a particularly boring dance act that Eric had been half sleeping through. A thousand years on earth, and he'd witnessed the change of dance from slights of ankles to kicking legs and well supported bustiers to nearly naked, string clad women in high heels rubbing lewdly against strip-poles. But he'd seen it all. Nothing was new to him any more. Nothing was interesting. Nothing was sexy.
All he could think of was Sookie.
And then he opened his eyes and found himself somewhere very, very different.
After giving his name and walking out on a very upset scientist, Eric had set himself loose on a city, and a wealth of information hidden in his NV. First on the list was finding out when sunrise was and finding a good place to sleep; harder in a city like this than he might have preferred. In the end he'd had to steal a coffin, which had looked rather suspicious being dragged into the Tower Apartments, and earned him several rather wary looks from the company staff on the ground floor. Not that any of that bothered him--they could think what they liked.
But the other Newcomers? Intrigued him. He'd already read about Merlotte's bar, and when he looked back into the archives there was Sookie - gone now, but still, the possibility remained that she might return. Well, if that wasn't temptation, then he didn't know what was. He could get used to this place--no, he could be a king here, with the right leverage and a little sacrifice. What was the harm?
