Okay, just before you start reading my irrational post, bear in mind that things will probably work out and I realize this. Right now, I am aggravated and am attempting to relieve stree via LJ. So now I update, kay? kay

my experiences with similar situation have ended this way: I've been a good student, with consistent performance and good grades. A professor in this situation thinks "Ok. Well, my student has missed more than the recomendation , but has also be a genuinely good and focused student. Fail them? No. Perhaps drop their grade from an A to an A-? Probably." Don't worry about it. The odds that your professor will be enough of a bitch to fail you for missing an extra class are slim to none.

I can't remember the last person i saw so worried about grades! just get the diploma! hehe.
anyway, remember my ex-? She used to miss 25-50% of her classes per semester and never suffered for it. Granted, that is an extreme bit of luck on her part, but if you miss an extra class or two, I would not sweat it, unless you have a professor with the middle name Anal.
is there a possibility that your alarm did, in fact, go off, and you shut it off in your sleep? i know for a fact that has happened to me - one day last week, i was supposed to get up for 7, and i was positive the alarm was set for 7...... and i woke up at 12:30. (i was pissed too.) my theory is that i was so tired that my body simply refused to wake up. but i do know what you mean - my day is all thrown off if i miss a class from oversleeping. i've missed tests before.
1) Cassie passed cultural studies with... what was it, ten absences?
2) You're in Joe Shinn's program, you can withdraw at any time
3) It's a one-credit class. Withdrawing won't hurt you much, and an F has 1/3 the weight of an F in any other class.
4) That sucks about the alarm clock. I've had that problem many times.
5) I think that when teachers phrase things on a syllabus, they mean that you should only be in the course if you really care about the subject, and if you've "skipped" four times, then you probably don't care. Ask her about it though. You won't be telling her anything new, other than that your absences haven't been through lack of caring.
