This one is an AU SF setting, somehow related to my GxKyo SF series Eternity Night/Blood Kiss/Lightless. Setting in the post-Third World War era(2050s-2090s), the war took place in the middle of 2050s, and it changed the fate of human kind forever.(I should buy Immortal movie for inspiration!>_<)
Yoshiki Hayashi: A crazy scientist! After the loss of his lover Hide in the War, he threw himself into his study, his goal is to create a new-type of human being/creature which he called “over-human”, but before he could finish the project he was influenced with a fatal disease(a new type of disease that developed in the post-war era) and he was officially “dead” in around the late of 2060s.
Shinji Mizui: The successor of Yoshiki, for years he had been suffered from the same illness that killed Yoshiki and had to sit on a wheelchair for most of the time. In order to keep his illness under control he needed to inject heavy doses of drugs and the basal metabolism of his body was terribly affected that he looked like a teenager of 14-15 even in the age of 40. And the product of his experiment (which he picked up the unfinished study of Yoshiki) was Kaoru…an incomplete “over-human”, but before he could continue the study, his condition turned worse and soon he was officially “dead” in the year of 2080. still before he dead he’d finished his last important experiment on the case of Shinya Murata and also, on himself. Yes…at the end he turn himself into the subject of experiment as well.^^;
Kaoru Niimura: the product of Yoshki/Shinji Mizui’s experiment, the left-hand man of Dr- Mizui in his last days and the successor of Mizui’s study and his large experiment centre. No one knew the fact he wasn’t a normal human and his final goal is to “product” the other-half of his “unborn self” in order to be completed again, then he could destroy Tokyo with the weapons of mass destruction he’d developed for this purpose…^^;
Shinya Murata/Kirito: Dr. Mizui’s last sample/patient, a hybrid of a human mmother and a mutant mother(oh yes during this future era, same sex partners, both male or female, are able to reproduce their own offsprings, all with the help of science!) with strong psychic power, many of his body organs were influenced by another new-type of deadly disease upon his birth and he was almost utterly dying in around 2078 when his mother brought him to Dr. Mizui at the age of 7(or maybe a bit older, it’s a subject to change), and Dr. Mizui took him in and promised the mother his son’ll be healed. But actually Mizui true motive was to use young Shinya, a rare hybrid between human and mutant, on his study…^^;
Soon Shinya was being insolated in a special ward with only Mizui and Kaoru as his only visitor while the latter preparing for the operation to remove/replace his decaying organs. But being innocently unawake of Mizui’s plan, young Shinya soon took a liking on this gentle doctor who was always nice and caring toward him(while Kaoru was always aloof and businesslike.). Later Dr. Mizui brought a little boy who seemed to be in Shinya’s age to accompanying him in the ward, and this little boy was, of course Kohta. Very soon the two were inseparable and Shinya began to believe Kohta was his younger brother…^^;
In 2080 Kaoru’s operation was a great success and young Shinya was supposedly “healed” and he left the experiment center alone. His “brother” Kohta was never been seen again. Then what had happened to Shinya was unknown but when he returned to Tokyo in around 2090s, he’d abandoned his family name and went by Kirito as his new identity, later he become the chairman of the research center of psychics/mutants (I still haven’t think of a proper name for this center.^^;), his research focused on the different kinds of special power that mutants might develop.
Kohta: an android which Dr. Mizui had specially produced/designed for Shinya’s operation, basing on Shinya’s own DNA and the DNA samples of his parents. In order to heal Shinya, Mizui and Kaoru’d need a lot of suitable organs(too many of Shinya’s organs were damaged by the disease…) but because he was a hybrid had made thing different, so eventually the two decided to use genetic engineering technology to product a perfect donator for Shinya…and…this is Kohta. And in order to make Kohta even more suitable for the upcoming surgery, they even send him to accompanying Shinya so the latter would be less likely to reject Kohta’s organs…^^;
damn…but the problem is no one had told Shinya about all these evil but necessary plan behind the surgery. But then once the surgery ended and he woke up, Kohta is no where to be found and when he eventually learned the truth from Kaoru, it almost drove him mad to know he’d survived his illness by devouring his own “brother”…well, but by then Dr. Mizui was “dead” already. XDDD
but, before the surgery, Kaoru had copied a spared softdisk-copy of Kohta’s entire memory and programmed it into the super computer/A.I system…^^;;;
Aiji: the only remaining/surviving sample of Dr. Mizui’s last experiment. Mizui’s experiment was to separate “himself”(body, being, consciousness and soul whatever) into four different individuals (but yet they were mentally related in the subconscious-level), but practically Mizui’s own consciousness as a whole no longer existed and three out of four samples weren’t awake of their true identity(or origin). And! These separated samples weren’t entirely human, they were more like the mixture of psychic and mutant with special power, but only Kaoru knew exactly why Dr. Mizui had decided to create/re-create such kind of beings, and why he decided to use himself as the sample.^^;
Kaoru had kept the four of them in his lab for study use but after Shinya found what Mizui and Kaoru had done to Kohta, he broke into the lab(by using his power as a mutant) and killed two of the separated samples and “devoured” the other one of them(the only one who possessed Mizui’s memory), only Aiji escaped but was badly injured(Shinya at that point thought he’d killed him too), and Aiji was caught again by Kaoru before he could escape from the experiment center. After the incident Kaoru wiped the memory of Aiji’s “siblings” clear from his mind and kept him by his side until he sent Aiji to Kirito’s research center, yes they met again in 2097.^^
For years Aiji had been dreaming about his dead "twin/sibling(his other separated self in fact)"'s final moment of him being devour/consume by a young boy(Shinya/Kirito) who he didn't know and disappear forever into the dark void of Kirito's internal-self, so when he met Kirito for the (supposedly) first time, he almost freaked out.(and Kirito on the other hand also nearly lost control of his iron-will.^O^)
Jun: Aiji’s partner in crime/work and his favorite company! But originally Jun…wasn’t a human at all! He belong to a line of human-form weapons/androids with high intelligence which were secretly produced by the military force back to the 1950s Third World War era, but they gave up the plan and sealed or destroyed most of the products simply because their power were too destructive and difficult to control. But Kaoru found a way to buy one of these sealed human-form weapon and re-programmed Jun’s character and power, but Kaoru’s true motive was to unleash Jun’s destructive power as his weapon to destroy Tokyo!^^
Shinya: originally Kaoru’s “unborn self” which Dr. Mizui failed to create back in 2079, but Kaoru kept on trying(and produced many other failure such as Kyo along the process) till he finally success making this “other half of himself” come into being in around 2099. His genetic blueprint structure was based on Yoshiki’s lover, Hide.(actually both Kaoru and Shinya are more or less based on Hide, crazy that Yoshiki was!!^_^) At the beginning Shinya appeared to be small child but soon he escaped from his cell and flee with another mutant, Die(whom Kaoru’d caught as another sample) to the outside world to get away from Kaoru…but you see it’ll be a long story…^^
Takeo: an up-and-coming political figure with powerful influence in Tokyo, but he was also one of Kaoru’s creation, but no one knew this secret.^^;
Kyo: another android by Kaoru, escaping from the experiment center and now in hidding.He's also one of the main charaters in the GacktxKyo SF series you see.^^;
Hide: Yoshiki’s mysterious lover who dead at the end of Third World War era, and the truth is, he was an alien from outer space(and no one but Yoshiki knew)! *smirks* so after his death his crazy scientist lover kept his remain and, based on the sample of Yoshiki own genes and Hide’s alien genes, Yoshiki constructed the model for his “over-human”…so both Kaoru and Shinya, and many of Kaoru’s creations ain’t merely mutant/android, but half-alien.XDDD

A mutant with special psychic power and genes that could rarely be found even in mutant race, now she resident in Kirito’s research center, in my setting Lilith was familiar with the female “queen fairy” Talto in Anne Rice’s Talto novel. And back in 2070s, she was also involved in Mizui’s experiment, she allowed herself to be used as a subject of this experiment, because Mizui had once saved her life but most importantly, because she loved him…(but it’s a vain love, mind you)
Now here’s the detail of the experiment that Lilith’d gone through: Dr. Mizui had chose her to be the bearer of “over-human” by injecting the zyozte (that will-become Kaoru) into her womb and later she gave born to Kaoru, and not only this! Mizui had also implanted the raw ectocommensal matter(I told u my SF eng writing suck><) that would have been Kaoru’s “unborn self”(-Shinya) into her marrow for keeping. Therefore, in another words, Lilith is Kaoru and Shinya’s mother/formal self.*smirks*
But at the beginning of the story, Kaoru assigned Aiji(undercover) to go to Kirito’s research center to kill Lilith(to kill his “mother”!!) and bring her body back in secret. Why he sent Aiji instead of Jun or other people? The main reason is because he knew Lilith would only surrender to Mizui/Aiji whom she loved depressingly and only then she would drop all her psychic defeat and be killed(willingly), and the other reason is, Kaoru also knew Kirito would definitely realize who Aiji really was once he set eyes on him, and Kao-kao was eagered to know what would happen then.^^;
