This one I read either freshman or sophomore year of highschool, but since I bought the entire Dark Elf Trilogy, I decided to read it as a refresher
( Read more... )
I think i read a comic based on him. He and a human girl fall in love, and she was raised by dwarves, and and he was trained as a ranger by a blind dude in the forest and everyone thinks he's bad but he's not....or something.
He falls in love with Catti-brie (I think that's how you spell it ^^;) raised by Bruenor, one of the dwarf kings. XD Yay.
As for the writing style, I agree too. :x It really isn't that great. But as a Neverwinter girl, I just love the fact that there are Forgotten Realms stories. XD
Correct on Catti-brie and the graphic novel, but I'm not sure the name of the dwarf. That's all explained either later in the DET, which I'm only on chapter four of Exile, or in The Crystal Shard, which I think I have but am not positive.
I started reading Homeland a couple of days ago, and I'm about half-way through. I have to agree. Salvatore's writing style isn't perfect, or all that great. I almost put down Homeland because of it. But the story...gods! I love it. Think I might also be addicted.
When I first read it, I borrowed a friend's copy. I stopped half way through, but she kept asking me every day when I went into school, "Did you finish reading it yet?" So I felt bad, and finished it. And ended up falling in love with Drizzt.
But I agree about the writing style. Now that I'm more aware of it, it's making reading the second installment of this trilogy difficult to read. I adore Drizzt, though, so onward I go.
