Well that was... abrupt. I thought the whole dinner with the Raven clan was meant to open negotiations for a truce, but neither king said a word. And then suddenly they're invading and both kings are killed and Yuuki is proposing joining another clan and... my head is spinning. Considering the new clan's name, I think I have a pretty good idea who the pair of kings are.

The dinner was the peace meeting. MiA simply didn't find it interesting enough to listen. Then obviously the whole thing had been to lead the Meji clan into a false sense of security. It may seem abrupt, but only because MiA was so far removed from what was going on. This story is very much MiA's story, everything else is just in the background.

I'm pretty sure you've guessed right on the new kings. But I won't say, just in case you are wrong.
