WELL...Nobody seems to have been alive this weekend, since our Improv-A-Thon.
Time for recap of the weekend.
Got about 1 hour of sleep Thursday night. So, the day began. Could I do it alone? Not without vitamins and coffee and food. Yup started the day with a bowl and never stopped. It's not often I'm stoned all day long.
I'd say the Improv-A-Thon was successful. There were moments of absolute boredom. There were times that noone was there, aside from some improvisers. But there were some absolutely great improv moments going on throughout the day and night.
The team I was on was captained by
captainpenguin, with myself (duh),
badlovemojo,
arc_monkey, Rebecca, and Kyle. Kyle arrived at 9, just in time to have a group discussion. We planned on watching another group and then being able to have a little time to warm up. I'm not sure who stated it first, but somebody claimed we needed to go right then. Apparently someone wasn't there for the other team to go on yet. Now this PISSED us off! We were under the assumptions that if a teammate wasn't there, that's what the alternate was for. Why the fuck were we, the MAIN team going early?
Well, it mattered not. A good improv group steps up to bat and says, "Yes, lets!" So, that is what we did. We jumped right into our Harold and then played some games. We ended up playing higher advanced stuff than the rest of them. We kicked ass from the beginning all the way through to the end of our time on stage. GO TEAM KGOTF (Knights Of The Glittery Forrest), I'm glad we had a blast.
captainpenguin kept things rolling for our team. He explained things well to the audience. Albeit a little long winded at times, with his explanations. He let us decide how to end our scenes from our Harold. We all said "YES" to everything thrown at us. We all said "YES" to anything our fellow team members said and did while up there.
By far it is one of the best groups I have had the opportunity to improv with. I think we need to get together as a group more often!!!!!! Who knows, maybe we could host our own small improv show!
Obviously, not EVERYTHING worked throughout the event. Some people need to realize that they need to give respect to others who are on stage. That respect is given by remaining quiet and attentive. There are also those who need to remember that when on stage, they are there to entertain the crowd, not themselves. Why would anyone want to pay attention to a bunch of people on stage who are into themselves only? Also, when captaining a team, some need to remember it's not all about them! They need to be a good captain by helping their teammates, not taken full control of the games.
I'm thankful that friends showed up to see me perform. Thank you Sarah, as usual, you are one of my closest friends. Thanks
dark_blu for coming so far. I'm glad you enjoyed watching us. It was nice having people i knew in the crowd, aside from those from school.
I ended up getting about 5 hours of sleep before being woken up to work. Got in an hour nap. Then it was get ready to head to Rocky. I was finally able to use MY Rocky shorts again. First time in 4 years that they've been used. They are all shiny again. They were a HUGE hit with the crowd. Perhaps it was because of them being so fucken tight. Oh well...small price of discomfort for a huge amount of joy. It made me feel better in the role to have MY own shorts to use again.
Sunday, a long day of recuperating. My knees are KILLING me! So much time spent standing or running around, with little sleep, makes the muscles ache. Especially with the cold weather coming in. Thank whomever decided to make Lavender Therapy Bath Powder. I can soak in the hot tub and it helps relax my muscles. It's also very soothing on the soul.
Don't say you were not warned. This may not be what you expected, if you're reading this section. Sorry, but this is what I need to write about.
I know I have ex's on my friends list who can handle reading this stuff. This is why we are still friends. There are some on my list who have been involved with me at some point or another, as sex partners. That's life. There are some who have interest in me. These are the ones I think should SKIP THIS PART!!!!
SERIOUSLY, HIT PAGE DOWN. Otherwise, you may read things that might bother you or something!!!!
I spoke to Brianna (my Pixie in L.A.) a couple days back. As usual she made me smile over something really lame. Again, she claimed I put a smile on her face, as she had been having a horrible day. This is 2 weeks in a row that I have done so for her. I find it to be absolutely amazing that I have a connection with this woman still, after these few years. Every time we have spoken, we end up talking forever. Every time something is said, there is the truth spoken all the way around. Nothing she has ever said has bothered me. Nothing I have said has bothered her.
She has a sister who lives up this way, in Roseville. She had been planning on coming to visit her sister sometime in the next couple months. Of course, she wanted to see me too, while she was visiting. She wanted me to take her to Rocky for her first time. This way she could also see me perform. BUT, she found out her brother-in-law is being shipped out to Afghanistan in mid December. This means Brianna's sister will be moving across the country. Their goes her family visit from L.A.
The good news of it....she still wants to come up to see me! What can I say? I'm elated to have her visit me. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Brianna has a piece of my heart and always will. This is someone who met me outside of Rocky Horror. She likes me for me. She likes everything about me. She trusts me with EVERY secret she has. She is someone I can tell anything to, without worry. I don't worry about what she'll say when I talk about people from past relationships. She knows it has nothing to do with HER! She takes it as useful knowledges. We've talked about being with other people. We've talked about going on dates. It doesn't bother us. Why? Because we know that there is something we have that nobody else has ever given us. It's just one of those things. A spark started and it never died away. I do love her.
I have some serious thoughts running through my brain. I will not divulge them here, yet. I need to get some things straightened out first.
