What do you do to practice? Just act it out by yourself? Look in the mirror?

You got it. It's called throwing it into the DVD player and running the scenese over and over. Listening to certain words for certain movements. Studying character expressions and movements.
Recall blocking from the male roles and swapping them a little bit for the females. =)
It sure beats running around a park once a month, following someone else , listening to only the audio tape! (yes I did that many years back)
