I miss SwissMiss. The things that are lacking in Ireland are just ridiculously random. Like peanut butter. If the can says, "American-style peanut butter", you know something's up. They don't sell frosting for cakes in the stores that I've seen. And no powdered sugar, so we can't even make it ourselves. And for hot chocolate, they only have real ( Read more... )

As far as powdered sugar goes, you can put normal sugar in the blender on high and make it into powdered sugar. Ok, my grandmother taught me this years ago, and I feel like I'm missing a step, such as possibly putting in a wee bit of cornstarch? But I'm sure if you google it there will be correct instructions... And then you can put it all in the cocoa!

The peanut butter, though... that does suck. What IS American-style PB?

also missing: a blender (although from our house, not the supermarkets). I will live. the frosting was for my roommates. although if I ever wanted to bake a dessert or something.......

I have no idea what American-style PB is. I had some of my roommate's. it's not very peanut-buttery, is what I think the problem is. and i actually prefer chunky peanut-butter, but that is obviously not an option.

as for the hot chocolate, i prefer sans marshmallows.

p.s. I also miss Original Goldfish snacks like no other. I usually go through an entire bag in one sitting. they don't sell anything except crackers and chips here.
