i think you should go for something liek the second one, as they are smaller. When I think of wings I think of angles, and i think small. hmm, just an idea.

What about a design like the 2nd one, with the spread wings, but with the detail/look like the first one? I would draw it, but my skills are still quite sub-par.

i like the smallness of the second one because it looks delicate and that is what i picture angels being... delicate. i like how the first one looks like an actual tatoo where the second looks like it is carved in the skina dn what we see now is a scar..don't do that. but overall i think that the simplicity of the second with the color of the first would look awesome. good luck!
