Dying and coming back was not unlike returning home after a long time away only to discover that moths had infested your clothes; you could fumigate but the clothes still had holes in them. Not that Kon had had a lot of experience with moths, but he was pretty sure that was how it was. You didn't need to have a high school education to know that moths were bad news, and Kon didn't need to be around for the last year to know that everything had changed.

It sucked.

There was a difference between knowing that everything must have changed and learning that everything had changed. Some things were still the same: American football was still the best, Batman was still a jerk, Superman was still that impossibly aloof ideal ( ... )

Finding Tim was surprisingly hard, even if you had heat vision, x-ray vision and were really, really awesome. Which, of course, Kon was. But Tim was ridiculously hypervigilant and competent, so Kon didn't take it too badly when instead of finding Tim, Tim found him instead ( ... )

jfkgvsdfjk uwah This is amazing. I especially love Kon's voice in here, because it's perfect and it makes so much sense. ♥ I have a weak spot for Batman and the Super family in general, so this makes me so, so happy. Thank you, I love Kon way too much.

A Symphony in Three Parts anonymous December 5 2010, 00:46:56 UTC
Movement I: Elliot Nightlay
Ada pulled at her stockings one last time, checked that her hair ribbons were securely in place and then paused to finger her new-minted prefect badge, sitting jauntily on her lapel. When she had told Uncle Oscar about her prefecture, he had told her that her mother had also been a prefect when she was at school. Ada wondered if Oz would have been a prefect if he wasn’t trapped in the Abyss, but didn’t ask Uncle Oscar that. She’d find out eventually, when they pulled him out again. She would.

It was bright and sunny outside, the heat beating down on Ada’s hair before she put on her boater to shade her face. The hat didn’t do anything for the heat, but it did mean that Ada’s nose wouldn’t burn like it had in her first year. She had spent months living down the teasing after that, and it really wouldn’t do for Lutwidge’s new students to think that one of their prefects was too flighty to remember to wear her hat ( ... )

Movement II: Gilbert NightlayLutwidge prided itself on turning out well-rounded graduates, fluent in several languages, proficient on at least one instrument and capable with a sword. To this end, students were able to book one of the piano rooms for an hour, with or without instructors, outside of class hours. Students were highly encouraged to use the instructors to refine their technique, and were explicitly instructed that they were only to be in the piano room for an hour at a time ( ... )

Movement III: Oz Vessalius
Ada’s racing footsteps slowed as she came closer to the piano room. Elliot was playing in there again, puzzling over a melody rather than reading off sheet music. She’d come enough times to know that this was what Elliot did when he composed. This, plus their earlier argument, gave her pause.

Right on the hour, Elliot stopped playing and Ada entered the room with a sigh.

“You came early today,” he observed, shoving his notes into his music bag. “I would have thought you’d be spending more time with your brother.” Ada shook her head.

“He just left. I’m glad; I love him but it’s so much to take in.”

“You? Overcome?” Elliot snorted. “Yeah right. How does it feel to not be the heir anymore?”

“I never was,” Ada corrected. “Uncle Oscar and I always knew that one day, Oz would come back from the Abyss. I was just making sure he had a place to come back to.” She smiled at Elliot’s incredulous expression. “We didn’t expect it to be this soon.”

“This soon? This soon?” Elliot exploded. “Ada, he’s ( ... )

There! That should tide you over until February at least as far as paid time goes.

I was just wondering if you had any bases handy for Himeno and Shinobu?

Hi there! I was just wondering if you'd had a chance to bundle up some bases? I'm quite bored and it is better than cleaning my house.

I'm afraid I didn't get a chance to start working on your icons. I won't be revealing until those are done. In the meantime, feel free to shift the LJ tokens I just sent you around. I'm not sure which account needs them more at this point!
