When I was deployed to Saudi, me and some of the guys I worked with would catch these huge flies and put them in the fridge to chill them. Then we would make little paper banners that said stuff like "Eat at Joe's," with a short length of thread attached to one end. Then we would get one of the chilled, sluggish flies and attach the thread to the fly's butt with a dab of superglue, and when they warmed up, they'd fly around towing the banners like airplanes over Coney Island. (Except the banners would usually spin around their long axis so you couldn't read them.)
