Fireworks
"We have things to do, Alex." Selene frowned as she was led down the hill and away from the buildings, though they were still well in the middle of their compound.
"The sun set hours ago. We've eaten dinner and the kids are helping make sure everything is washed and put away. Josh and Kat can make sure everyone is tucked in." Alex's arm wrapped more around her waist to make sure she didn't slip away. "And like I've been telling you. You aren't working on your birthday."
She went a little less resistant in his arms. It was easier to give into that rule when most of the work was already done for the day. "Fine. Why are we out here? I thought when you pinned me away from work, it was in the bedroom." Her tone went silky as she smirked up at him.
He chuckled and kissed her softly before he tugged down on a blanket that he already had set up. "Because I have a present for you that can only be seen out here."
She peered at him curiously. "It's not something that can get us in trouble is it?"
He chuckled. "Maybe a little, but you're worth it. And it's set up far enough away to keep us safe." Though most of the demons knew abouts where they were settled anyway.
Before she could ask what the first firework brust across the sky. It was far enough away that she could barely hear it but the location gave her the perfect view of it above the trees. "Alex..."
He smiled and tugged her to rest back against him. "I found some fireworks a few months back. And with your birthday landing on the old holiday, I thought it'd be fitting."
Selene turned and kissed him softly before she rested against him. The colors were many and the show was amazing as the to sat together. "Thank you."
