The Male Code

Prompt: 3(Daemon Sadi) and 12(Chuck Bass) are in high school. What cliques do they hang out with? Do they hate each other, or hang out?

Chuck leaned back in his chair a little, only half listening to Nate chatter on about the upcoming lacrosse game as he watched Serena. The blond was currently perched on Daemon's desk, head tilted back as she tried to flirt with him. Daemon had stayed fairly isolated from everyone but Lucivar since starting at St. Jude's.

Quite the scandle had buzzed last summer though, when it had come out that Lucivar was Daemon's half-brother. Though the society ate that drama up. All the scandal had done was to make both of them more isolated from everyone else. Including not date, at least when it came to Daemon. Lucivar seemed to enjoy the ladies now and again.

"Chuck?" Nate waved a hand in front of his face. "Are you even listening to me?"

Chuck blinked a little as Serena slipped off the desk with a sigh because she'd failed to seduce her target. His eyes turned back to Nate, knowing without looking that Blair was waiting for her so they could head to their class. "Sorry, Nathaniel, I got lost in thought.

It was Daemon's turn to watch Chuck, well aware that he'd been watching Serena try for a date. The two were similar in ways, both dangerous to cross especially. The other big similarity was that they both had women chasing after them, but where Chuck cashed in on the opportunities Daemon stayed away from it. He felt that when he found the woman he was meant to be with he'd know. And none of these socialites were it.

"Mr. Archibald, please take your seat," the teacher called as he turned from where he'd written the homework assignment on the board already. "We're about to begin."

Chuck looked up when Daemon set his bag down on the table across from him. Neither minded quiet company sometimes, and Daemon knew he could at least count on Chuck to not pander at him with questions.

Though he had an ulterior motive this time. "Is there any way to get her to stop?"

Chuck smirked a little as his eyes slid back to the table he'd been watching. There was a new golden head at the table with Blair and Serena and he'd been trying to catch sight of the new meat. "Short of sleeping with her and then acting like a boyfriend, which will have her drop you faster than you can say your name, I'm really not sure. The thought process of a van der Woodsen is not a complicated one, at least. But not sure we want to try treading there either."

Daemon followed Chuck's gaze as he nodded at the answer. "It's getting tiresome to always have her on my desk before class all the time." His brow rose a bit, feeling the slightest tug at the blond hair he didn't recognize. "Who is that?"

"Maybe your brother would oblige you in distracting her for you," Chuck murmured with a slight smirk. His shoulder rose a bit at the new question. "Jaenelle Angelline. New girl that started today, and a freshman. Though she's got to have either presence or power for Blair and Serena to already have her in their group."

"Jaenelle Angelline," Daemon repeated quietly. It was almost like he was mesmerized.

Like she'd heard her name from Daemon's lips, Jaenelle turned her head and looked towards the boys. Though, she only flickered over Chuck, her gaze settled and lingered on Daemon's. The sapphire eyes burned with an intelligence that would have made Chuck peg her as much older.

"Seems like someone's interested," Chuck murmured. Well aware of who her gaze lingered on, though he also caught Blair watching him with a slightly raised brow. Almost asking him what he wanted, why he was watching them. "Might want to make your move before the rest of the school takes a stab at her."

Daemon gave a low sound for that last comment and both could swear that Jaenelle shivered at the sound before she turned back to the girls she was with. "Don't say things like that again." The darkness in his tone said a lot more than the words, the threat in an undercurrent.

Chuck shrugged slightly. "Didn't mean anything by it." He stood and grabbed his bag. He'd had enough of watching people he couldn't have. "Just saying, ask her out before someone else does. She's honestly the first girl you've seemed interested in in three years, and that says a lot." Without waiting for a response, Chuck walked towards the path that would lead him back to the boys side of the school. He couldn't repress a shiver, knowing that if he turned around it would be brown eyes, not sapphire watching his exit.
