I'll just jump in and say that valancystirling is a big fan of the show being criticized in the post, so probably the writer. I'll also say that from what I've gathered the Jamie Oliver show in England is not critical of fat people at all. The producers of the American show are guilty of quite a bit of fat-bashing for the sake of ratings, in my opinion, but the post may be a bit unfair to Jaime Oliver himself. Except for the Glen Beckish crying, I don't know what that's about. The woman who he told "you're killing your kids"... she kinda was. She was deep frying all their meals. It could have been handled better, perhaps, but again I mostly blame the American producers for editing and voiceover to make it seem really confrontational.
Hmm...I guess I'll say I was irritated by the writer's approach to the topic?
Reading the blog post, I was confused, because her take on the show was so completely different than mine--it was almost as if she went into it primed to take offense at every possible turn, and when there was not enough offense to be had, she invented some out of thin air.
Probably face-punching is over the top, but still. Grr.
