It would be interesting to find out what odds a bookie would give you on Liz or Phil going in the next 5 years given they are both in their 80s.

Contract length was for 3 years with an optional 12 month extension (!)

4 years would take Liz to 87 and Phil to 92. I probably wouldn't bet against it.

And they do spend a non-trivial amount of the year at Balmoral. Which I'm told is north of the Tyne and thus in Scotland.

This is true.

This week's been quite fun for ITTs. On monday there was a council project that needed to define parents in more detail:

"parents (mothers and fathers)" was used in 2 places in the summary. I started exclaiming that "no one could possibly need the notion of parents defining given the context of the ITT being family support", but it was then pointed out that one could have "same sex parents". I then decided that I didn't want to apply for such a blatantly homophobic ITT(!)*

There was also another one to teach councillors IT skills.

* and ignored that myco had neither the skill nor the capacity to deliver what they wanted.
