As the two people that read my LJ will know, I have some 'issues' with the former minister, Phil Woolas:

But apparently, the chap has now been booted out of parliament.

From the way the BBC, ITv and C4 TV news was reporting it, I was under the impression he would keep his seat until after the judicial review.

Best not to celebrate yet and do so twice as when the judiciary agree with the election court.

One can but hope he doesn't even get a judicial review.
The other important thing to note is that a judicial review isn't the same as an appeal. So we may well end up with the by-election still happening but Woolas not being disqualified under the RPA, but still suspended by the labour party so not an official candidate
