So sorry to have my first post in a while be such a downer, but our cat, Shaggy Nick, aka Beast, aka Pickle, passed away this morning. I woke up around 5:45 and heard some sort of liqiudy noise, and went over to check on him. He'd coughed up a bunch of blood, and was wheezing. We brought him to the Mass. I think you mean he was a dog in a cat's body... and yes, he was. Having only had siamese cats growing up, I never knew cats could be anything but aloof pricks. Nick certainly changed that stereotype for me. ;)

It does. The issues he'd had before had been helped by the steroids, so he hadn't been sick per se, but there's a good chance he had a tumor somewhere. We didn't bother to get an MRI done, since we wouldn't have put him through cancer treatments, so at least the steroids gave him some more time, and made him feel better, which was most important.

I'm so sorry. Nick was lucky to have you and John. He had a terrific, long life. I'm glad you were both able to be there at the end.

Thanks. That was the most important thing to me. To find him that way would have been more horrible for us, and to know he was alone when it happened would have been unbearable.
