Sorry - this has nothing to do with pumpkins. But I've got a random question for ya.
I'm spending Christmas in Israel and I figured I'd cook a "traditional American" dinner for Asi. What exactly should I bring from home if I plan to make:
stuffing gravy pies jello salad
and I figure I can find a turkey and potatoes there (how about sweet potatoes/yams?).
And do you think someone raised in Israel would like any of that?
You can actually get everything you need from the grocery stores there. If you want, bring a box of stuffing mix and a pie crust or two. Yams might not be in season, but I'm sure you can get potatos. Everything is available, you just have to ask where to find it. And I'm sure he'll love it. Make sure you eat a lot of Israeli food while you are there :)
