Welcome to van_der_bilts!
This community is dedicated to the high and mighty Vanderbilts; the classiest family to ever grace the world according to Gossip Girl. We heartily welcome any fiction, graphics, videos, discussions (anything, really) pertaining to members of this illustrious family, and the brilliant actors that play them.
The Vanderbilts represent the best America has to offer. Our members represent the best this fandom has to offer. As such, please familiarise yourselves with the rules and guidelines laid out below; they exist to make this a pleasant place that everybody can enjoy.
1) As befitting civilized individuals, please respect other fans, both inside and outside this community, with regard to their interests and opinions.
2) Similarly, and supposing you do not want to be relegated to the lowly level of sewing buttons, respect must be shown to the characters and actors as well. Negative commentary can be expressed courteously, and without instigating World War III.
3) All posts must be related to members of the Vanderbilt family on Gossip Girl, and to the actors that play them. Whilst we may consider Nate Archibald a Vanderbilt as well, please bear in mind the many communities that already exist in his favour (archiburn, nateblair, nateserena to name a few). If, however, your desired entry relates to Nate and his family in any way, then by all means post away.
4) All posts should be friendlocked, comment enabled, and tagged accordingly (we have diligently prepared an exhaustive tag list. If there is a tag you need but do not see, please inform one of the moderators at your earliest convenience).
5) Spoilers and large content/images go under an lj-cut, and adequate warning must be provided. Also, do remember to give credit where credit is due.
6) Icon posts should consist of at least three teasers. The rest should be available under a cut, or linked to a post that will be public for a minimum of three days.
7) Fics must be placed under a cut or linked to a separate public post. Please ensure you provide a title, the character(s)/pairing, summary, rating, as well as spoiler warnings if necessary.
8) All members should use, to the best of their ability, generally accepted grammar, including proper capitalization and punctuation. “OMGZ you guiz, TRipP was sooooooo dayum HoT tonite!!!!!” is not a sentence.
9) Do not hotlink images.
