Okay so I tried, but gave up. I can’t choose between movies. I’ve seen few movies that I didn’t like someway or another (ok Spiderman 2 and Godzilla). This is what I had when I gave up (a bit boring I admit):
Gakked from my Flist!
Not English language
Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain/Amélie from Montmartre (French) A great romance/comedy... I love the style, the colours, the story, the sound...
La Mala Educación/Bad Education (Spanish) Pedro Almodóvar is a superb director and this is one of my favourite movies of his. The acting by Gael García Bernal is as always great and the twists and mood in the movie makes it a wonderful film.
Ondskan/Evil (Swedish) Loved the book and I loved the movie. It’s scary that it is partly authentic, and I’m shocked that something like this could ever take place in a school in a country such as Sweden…and I’m even more surprised that the author turned out so well.
Reconstruction (Danish) The technique in this movie is fascinating…the movie amazes me.
El Bola (Spanish) A movie about child abuse...a small, hard and wonderful movie that sticks to you mind and heart.
Diarios de motocicleta/The Motorcycle Diaries (Argentina/USA) Based on a true story about a road trip across South America...first class acting, humor, action and drama…Love it!
Festen/The Celebration (Danish) A dogme movie! “Every family has its secrets…”
Kongekabale/King's Game (Danish) The first real Danish political thriller…nothing out of the ordinary, but I think it’s great.
English/American language
Casablanca A classic and a cliché, but I love it!
Gone with the Wind Another classic that I can’t help to love.
The old Star Wars Trilogy I’ll never be a Star Wars geek, but I do really love these movies. I love everything from the plot to the silly androids.
The Godfather The first movie is absolutely amazing.
Good Will Hunting A troubled young man from the wrong side of the tracks with trust-issues and a shitty past (I start to see a pattern).
Forrest Gump Fantastic! Love Tom Hanks in this and it’s so heart-warming.
LotR Trilogy I’m Lord of the Rings fan all the way through.
Lost in Translation A masterpiece…fun, sad and original.
Elephant WOW. I saw this on a rainy afternoon and because there were no subtitles I had to be really quiet to hear anything (the sound was bad)… It just got to me.
The Shawshank Redemption Beautiful.
And hundreds of others...the list would probably change if I did it over.
