Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat!
I really like the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. I liked it when I was little and I still liked it when I watched it on Netflix Instant Play just a few days ago. It is an old show, older than me, much older than me.
I think I like it because it is packed with puns. Filled to the brim with them really. Overflowing actually. It seems like almost every line is some kind of pun or the set up for one or something. I liked how they would have the announcer say the two titles for the next episode and those were also puns. Something about it really made me laugh.
I also enjoyed Fractured Fairy Tales and Peabody’s Improbable History. Aesop and Son were okay and sometimes Bullwinkle’s Corner was pretty good. Dudley Do-Right I hated, always have always will. Maybe it was the implied bestiality since Nell was in love with Dudley’s horse. Dude, that’s messed up.
Overall I would say that Rocky and Bullwinkle is one cartoon from my youth that I can still watch today without thinking it is absolute shit (I’m looking at you Thundercats and Silverhawks).
