I don't even know why I'm posting these; they are so hideous.
Jaw surgery was a success. Well so the oral surgeon said. I'll believe it when the swelling goes completely down:
Friday, the day after surgery
Today, five days after surgery
Didn't I look like a Beluga whale after surgery? But the swelling has gone down a fair bit (I lose about 10kgs in the face each day) so I should be looking normal by the end of the week. I've even lost about 3kg, so hopefully if I can abstain from food a bit longer I'll lose 3kg more. For a little while after surgery I had really regretted going through with it because I felt so hideous and the operation was purely elective so I only had myself to blame. Hospital was fun though, the nurses were great and St John of God's is so plush - I had Nickelodeon in my room. I could've dealt with better drugs stronger painkillers but oh well.
Much love to Nova and Jo for coming to visit and playing Scrabble with me on Friday, and to Pete, Brett and Simon who came on Saturday and played Phase 10.
