So, after a few months of our cable being "suspended" (voluntarily, to save money) and then another few months of just basic cable with only boring channels, I splurged this week and got a few theme packs

I hope P enjoys baking. It's satisfying and unselfish to bake - you aren't going to eat the whole thing.

Through hard-learned lesson, the rule here is "bake for others".

Patrick may also enjoy FoodTV's Ace of Cakes. Duff is a pretty likeable guy, and they make pretty amazing cakes.

Also, there was a Top Chef: Desserts that was pretty good, and you should be able to download it pretty easily.

Finally, Good Eats is kind of a food-as-science show that has insanely high entertainment value. Alton Brown covers all kinds of cooking and baking in an accessible format.
