Colin and I are trying to plan our Thanksgiving trip. We always fly to see my parents in Raleigh. However, air travel is more expensive than it used to be, plus Calvin no longer qualifies to fly as Infant on Lap, so this is now a very expensive proposition. I don't know anything about your parents but is there any way they could fly to Austin instead? Seems like you've done your time. Then you could still take vacation days during that time and do some fun day trips with your family.

You read my mind, there, M. I think it's only fair for the non-kid having people to come to the kid-having people. Maybe not all the time, but at least during the baby-toddler stage.

That could work. I don't know whether they'll go for it, but I can ask. There is one missing piece of the puzzle. My brother, his wife, and their two toddlers live in Atlanta, and also travel to Raleigh for Thanksgiving. They would probably want to come here too. So they would also have to agree that it is a good plan.

Since my brother lives in the middle, it seems like it would make sense to have him host, but due to drama queen issues among his in-laws, it actually wouldn't be a good idea.

Still, I am going to float the idea of "maybe it doesn't always have to be in Raleigh?" and see what happens. Thanks.
