Adventure Report: Art for Texas Festival

I have set myself a goal of taking Calvin on one "adventure" a week. The purpose is to push me out of my comfort zone and discover more of what our fair city has to offer. Also to get out of the house and give Colin a break. :-) Instead of whining about how hard it is to do things when you have kids, I'm going to find things you can do with kids.

Sounds like you guys had fun.

I've been having a similar thought with PJ. Today we're tentatively scheduled to go to our local Children's discovery museum. Biggest trouble I'm having is *finding* those items to do with a 1 year old. But that's part of the work I guess.

Yes, that's half the effort for me, to find out all this stuff. And half the point, to keep my eyes and ears open for opportunities. It's hard, after spending decades learning to block out ads of all kinds. I think once you start finding activities, there are notices and mailing lists and stuff about other similar activities.
