Okay, so that dinner you went on sounded completely painful and obnoxious, and I know this doesn't justify her parents actions, but I find that MANY older Jewish ladies tend to be a little blunt and abrasive in their manner of speaking. Her dad actually said something kind of offensive to Ruchi when we ran into them at the Cornell store without meaning it too. But you kinda hafta realize that it's embedded in their characters...I'm sure they really didn't mean any harm and they actually probably thought very highly of you. Some older Jewish people in my experience just don't do a great job of showing that on the outside. I hope that makes some sense...it's 3:30 AM and I've fried my brain in orgo for several hours now.
