The URHA gave all the presidents and dorm representatives a tshirt to wear today. It is blue with thr URHA logo in the upper right hand corner on the front and on the back there is an American Flag with "We Remember" written underneath. Compounding the personal freedoms issues are the issues surrounding the war powers granted to President Bush by the Congress last September. They gave him an extremely broad standard to prosecute a war against a (by definition) difficult to define enemy. These war powers are about to lead to a US-led invasion of Iraq in order to, as the Bush administration so cleverly quips, achieve a "regime change." To justify their invasion, The Administration is attemtping to show that Saddam has or is planning on developing weapons of mass destruction. This is not a terribly hard sell. The question that our elected officials seem loathe to answer is "why does that justify an invasion?" I am not going to launch into a ramble-fest on why I think invading Iraq is a bad idea. Maybe I'll do that in my own LJ to vent some anger.
