1. Monkeys. Because they make everything more fun - the animals, the band and the fine group of folks on the FCFM mailing list who were the impetus for me to leave my life of lurking and join this wonderful thing we call fandom.
2. Manic Street Preachers. Because I was a hardcore fan in my early teens and they had a heavy part in making me the girl I am today. (Even if I do have put my fingers in my ears and insist they've broken up to avoid spoiling my memories.)
3. Music. I love it completely to the point where my ability to talk about it is limited, because of all the ways it says things that words themselves can't.
4. Manhunter. A kick-ass comic, with a procative, flawed and compelling female lead, diverse cast and interesting plots and ethical dilemnas. I love it even more for being the comic that tehfans managed to save, giving us hope that DC will listen every once in a while.
5. Miller's Crossing. The film that cemented my love for Gabriel Byrne, the Coens and gangster flicks all at once. A classic.
6. Mutant Enemy. For giving us the Jossverse, and for the wonder and delight that is the Grr Argh monster.
7. Meta. At its best, it's seriously thinky thoughts about pop culture written by folks that love it for what it is.
8. Make-up. Occasionally I like pretty things. I'm not a huge make-up person, but the few bits I wear I'm pretty much addicted to: funky nail polish, black eyeliner, lipstick and eyeshadow for special occasions. I like the drama of it, the way you can look like a completely different person.
9. Maple syrup. I used to think I hated this stuff, because everytime I saw it it was twinned with nuts and I do not like nuts. And then one day I tried some syrup alone and it was gorgeous. And now I kinda have a maple syrup problem. (I can stop any time I like!)
10. Myth. And its modern day deriatives, folklore. Anyone who knows eventually gets cornered about me going on about the massive jones I have for this stuff. Endlessly fascinating.
