I enjoyed this episode and its approach to the controversial issue of capital punishment (well "enjoyed" is probably not the right word... but you know what I mean). I liked how Fontana applied it to two very different types of criminals (Keane the religious, remorseful killer vs. L'Italien the unrepentant, violent serial killer), consequently

Eric Roberts! i recall him from Star 80 about doomed playboy bunny Dorothy Stratten. He was her no-good hubbie. LOL at the Trump thing.

Oh, I remember that movie! And when her murder was originally in the news. That was him? Wowww.

L'Italien was an interesting character. I still remember his "should have gotten the bulls' balls" regarding his last meal. I didn't remember the Trump thing though- I may have a mental block there (though your observation was quite funny).

The Tim/Diane sex thing annoys me. I can understand why it's there to some extent, but at the same time, have some damn respect people!

And laying hands on Gloria. Not good.

It's weird, but when I'm attempting re-watches, this is the point where I tend to fall out. Looking forward to you continuing and maybe I'll join you around season 2.

I can sort of understand the Tim/Diane hookup in that both of them were feeling really emotional-desperate, depressed, and not thinking clearly. But... it just seemed out of place.

Ha, I think my rewatch’s complete lack of a timetable helps me to keep it going. I’m just fitting in a single episode whenever I have the time and feel like it. And knowing that Keller shows up mid-way through S2 is driving me to keep going, too. ;D
