Brave of you to share. So sorry you had to go through it. I've been following Richard Schiff's saga on Twitter and have been praying for him daily. If I had known you were suffering, I would added you and your family to my prayers. I hope you improve and are back to full health soon! *hugs*

Thank you so much, Anne. All things considered, we were actually very lucky. It could have been so much worse. That's one of the scariest things about this virus--you just don't know how it's going to hit you. Now that I know what even a mild case is like, I want to do what I can to prevent others from getting it. I hope you and your family stay safe. *hugs back*

Thank goodness you & yours are all right!! I'm so glad you are :) That sounds so scary, especially the crippling tiredness and a fever! for that long! *shakes head*

Your Thanksgiving reminded me of some years ago when Mr. Star & I were in New Orleans, and on our last night, we were supposed to take a streetcar ride to Emeril freaking Legasse's restaurant for dinner, except that I got massively sick, like, overnight, and instead we ended up eating crappy Subway -- from a vending machine! -- in our miniscule hotel room. We'd skimped on the room bc we were going to splurge on fancy food! :) Not quiiite the end to the holiday I'd envisioned* either!

*But I did get to meet Ozsaur on that trip, well worth it! :D

Anyway, yes, very happy that you've come out on the other side. *HUGS*

Thank you, Trill. Yes, perhaps the worst part is that it dragged on for SO long. Several times, I would have a good day where the fever would dip, and it looked like I'd turned a corner, only to relapse the next day. Then there was a steady stream of well-meaning texts from family and friends asking "How do you feel today? Are you better yet???" Which is obviously nicer than no one giving a crap, but it was one more thing to deal with.

Vending machine Subway vs. Walmart subs... that's a tough one. Heh.

*hugs back*

Thanks, Sue. Looking back, we were actually very lucky. (It just didn't feel like it at the time! :D)

I'm sorry to hear what you've been through. The most important thing is that now you and your family feel better! Take care of yourselves and don't get close to older people in your family.
I'm so worried for my mother. She visited me earlier and I stood too close... Thank you for the warning and the reminder!

Thank you for your kinds words, onlyone. I was heartbroken when my family all mutually decided not to get together for Thanksgiving or Christmas, as we're a pretty close-knit family that doesn't see enough of each other as it is. But we all felt it was the right decision for us. Hopefully the vaccine situation will allow us to get together sometime earlier in 2021 than we originally thought. :-)

Stay safe!

My mother took the first vaccine yesterday :) (people at risk are taking it before the rest)

Oh, that's great to hear! It's the first step toward getting back to some type of normalcy. Hopefully, it won't be too long for everyone else.
