I love you.

Josh and I can't legally get married in this country because of his 'problem' - he's biologically female. I presume that if he gets the sex change it'll all be OK, but what is that really saying? It comes down to body parts? He's got a vagina and breasts, much as he loathes them, but once he removes them, WAAALLAAA, he can marry his wife. It doesn't make sense to me.

I keep thinking about Ellen Degeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi and I feel so angry and sad for them.

I honestly believe, along with Josh, that 'civil unions' should replace 'marriages' across the board - no couple can be told 'no' then, and gay couples and their offspring are protected by law. If their religion permits marriage, and it's something they want, I believe the couple should find someone willing to marry them.

In many, MANY parts of the (ancient) world, homosexuality just wasn't a problem, but an acceptable part of life. I know that being gay is more than just being sexually attracted to the same sex, but sex in general wasn't a sinful ( ... )

The anti-homosexuality thing is the Roman cultural aversion to it combined with the judeo-christian aversion to it, making a powerful force...

Anyways, I think I read somewhere that cali's going to recognize all of the marriages enacted before prop 8 goes into effect.
