His room was filled with so many new and wonderous things. American things, if Akihiro was correct. He'd never seen American things in person before; his father didn't seem to like them. American things were becoming more popular in Japan since the occupation, and they were in the books and newspapers that his father would bring home. Akihiro secretly wanted some western things, but would never dishonor his father like that. They had their pride as Japanese noblemen. It would be a betrayal to Japan to buy American goods.
...Or something.
Akihiro has already raided the entire apartment, finding all of the guns (which was AWESOME!) and weapons and the flamboyant western clothes and the weird typewriter/camera machine. And some sort of metal box with holes on the top. He really wanted to know what that was. And why the stove looked funny. And what the weird box was. He pushed buttons on it and it made weird humming sound and the little plate went round and round. Such strange things.
He had finally figured out how to open this stupid door (why did it not slide?) and wandered out into the hall outside.
