The leading theory on why so many young, healthy people die in pandemics is the “cytokine storm,” in which vigorous immune systems pour out antibodies to attack the new virus. That can inflame lung cells until they leak fluid, which can overwhelm the lungs, Dr. Moscona said.

But older people who have had the flu repeatedly in their lives may have some antibodies that provide cross-protection to the new strain, she said. And immune responses among the aged are not as vigorous.

do you have health insurance, or at least enough money that were there an emergency you could receive health care? do you live in a first world country? you will probably be fine. 8)

D: I think we should just be precautious and keep up our hygiene! From what I hear, the media is playing it up and making it seem more dramatic than it actually is. :O

I hate being sick so much. I got hit with swine ONCE but luckily I got over it, but wow it was horrible. It was like. A horrible cold, followed by some crazy flu...I was sore everywhere and super weak. Awful!!

Hi there! OMG but that's good that you got better!! I was lucky enough to not get sick and it all died down pretty quickly from what I remember.

I don't have Aim but I do have msn! On my own computer though, right now I'm using my friends /O\ my email for that is shirleeeh at hotmail dot com . :)
