[Though Kairi has a heart of pure light (one essential component of the χ-Blade), the fact that she barely fought back on their first meeting has sealed her fate as far as he's concerned. He may also subconsciously sense her connection to Aqua, which is in part why he reacted so aggressively towards her.]
RIKU [ KINGDOM HEARTS ] √√√
[Riku's very interesting, because he appears to have the same fight stance, similar weapon, and use of his darkness as Vanitas himself does, but he can sense that Riku's heart has some light. This has led him to assume that Riku is an apprentice--though of who remains to be seen.]

[The first 'clone' Vanitas ran into. He sees her as Ventus, right down to the clothing, but quickly figured out she was a fake (no shared emotions). Only useful because she's so easy to manipulate.]

[Second Ventus 'clone' he ran into. Roxas shows much more aggression than Xion, but still lacks a heart necessary for his goals.]
