Vanthene: *steps out of the shadows when she is certain Hanild is alone in her room and knocks softly on the door*
Hanild: *calls from inside* Come in.
Vanthene: *smiles, opens the door and slips inside quickly* You're a hard girl to catch alone, what with your husband and lover taking up most of your time, the latter being the more clingy of the two. Honestly, I'm surprised you can still walk.
Hanild: *blinks, then speaks with a mix of fear and annoyance* What do you want?
Vanthene: Right to the point, eh? No girl-talk? Okay. You and I are going to take the little guy there for a nice walk. Got it?
Hanild: *stands in front of Gram's crib* No, we're not. You're going to leave before I scream and have about a dozen men with drawn swords in here in less than a minute.
Vanthene: *quickly crosses the room to Hanild, clamps a hand over her mouth, then steps behind her and brings a knife to her neck with her other hand* Hard to do with your throat cut. Now, I don't particularly care about you at this point, but I'm pretty sure I can't get out of here with him without you. Understand?
Hanild: *nods slowly*
Vanthene: Good girl. You're going to put him in his little bassinet and then you're going to hand him to me. That way I won't have to worry about keeping this at your throat the whole time, cause really, that would be more than a little suspicious. Now, I'm going to take my hand off your mouth. Scream and you're dead, because the knife isn't going anywhere until I have the kid, alright?
Hanild: *nods slowly again and takes a slow, deep breath when Vanthene removes her hand from her mouth* Why won't you leave us alone?
Vanthene: You're just so much fun. *kisses Hanild's cheek* Besides, I owe your Daddy this time for breaking my wrist. Took forever to heal, stupid human bones. Now, hop to. *prompts* Baby in bassinet.
Hanild: *shakily picks Gram up out of his crib and places him into his carrier, Vanthene shadowing her every movement, the knife never leaving her neck*
Vanthene: *picks up the bassinet by the handle and steps away from Hanild slightly* Lovely. Here's what we're going to do now. We're going to walk out of the building, and then out of the city. We are going to act like we're old friends, just out for a stroll. And you try to signal to anyone, or do anything blatantly stupid, he dies *motions to Gram*. Got it?
Hanild: *quietly* Yes.
Vanthene: Spiffy. Should anyone ask, however, just call me Firiel.
Hanild: You're not her, they'll know that.
Vanthene: Please. Like the majority of the guards around here know anything about her other than that she's got dark hair. And hey look, so do I. Plus, with *you* vouching for me, I doubt they'll argue the point.
Hanild: *defeated look*
Vanthene: Now, now. Let's get that smile going. Old friends, leisurely stroll, remember? Let's go.

They exit Meduseld, avoiding anyone familiar, and then through the city itself, greeting a few people who stop to say hello to their Princess. Once outside the gates, Vanthene steers Hanild west.

Vanthene: Just a bit further. I have some horses waiting.
Hanild: You're not going to get away with this. Someone will notice I'm gone.
Vanthene: *shrugs* Maybe, maybe not. Even if I do get caught, I'll have enough time to get the rest of the pieces in place. That's all I care about. That said, let's pick up the pace.
Hanild: Where are you taking us?
Vanthene: You know, I forgot you were a talker. *pats Hanild on the head* We're going west. That's all you need to know right now. *grabs Hanild's hand and pulls her along, eventually out of sight from Edoras*
