Music Videos

I realized that there are those people who do not share my love of the visual-musical presentation--or, perhaps, they just lack the knowledge. So now I get to show off my favorite music videos.

QUEEN!

Breakthru - Queen

My favorite Queen song, something we all know and appreciate and adore. I just wanted to show you one of the best music videos ever. I love that chick. Highlights include Styrofoam walls getting hit by Queen on a freight train, air-humping, and Freddie Mercury finding a lovely match in a blonde chick with facepaint.

Who Wants to Live Forever - Queen

I've had mixed feelings about this song. It's melodramatic and wonderful. Highlights: insane overuse of dramatic backlighting, and each time you think the drama has peaked, it one-ups itself.

Scandal - Queen

I love this video, and I love this song. Before I actually OWNED any Queen I just had a huge Youtube playlist of what I thought was the best of the best--and when I actually got Greatest Hits I, II, and III, I was horribly disappointed that Scandal wasn't on it. While it does follow the same formula as a lot of other great Queen hits--great beat, powerful performance, slow section of a capella Freddie, I think it's easily one of their best songs, and I love that by then they'd accepted synthesizers and were openly using them to add more depth and a totally different tone. Bonus, Freddie hams it up to smithereens with his gaydancing around 1:50 and again near 2:20. He looks even more fabulous that normal!

And the Non-Queen

Edge of a Broken Heart - Vixen

I just discovered Vixen recently, and I am madly, passionately, wildly in hog-sex love. A female hair-metal band that can actually hold its own?! And not just that, but kick ass in heels that AMAZING? How can she drum? I will admit, they're not lyrical geniuses ("I don't wanna fall/I don't wanna crawl") but they get their point across ("I'll find someone else/Who's nothing like you"). Really powerful, great musicians, glam rock & hair metal at its finest.

We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister (Full Video)

The whole first two minutes or so of this video are just them showing how evil order, discipline, and paternal control is. It's really funny. Basically, it's just Twisted Sister showcasing their true belief of their power to single-handedly demolish the establishment as we know it. The actual song, which is mediocre but fun, starts at 2:56. Look up "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" by then, it's exactly the same.

There are tons more that I can't think of right now. So you just get Queen and Vixen and Twisted Sister.
