1) WE ARE A PAN-FANDOM AND OC COMMUNITY. We accept characters from any fandom provided they have sufficient background information, and some OCs. Please keep in mind that if you are applying for an original character, we will judge your apps on a harder basis than we do those of canon characters. Also, we are not allowing canon-based OCs. In other words, no, you cannot apply for Inuyasha's sister or Axel's long-lost-somebody's-twin-lovebuddy. It just isn't happening.
2) Going along with our first rule, seeing as we are a pan-fandom and OC game, please be fair to everyone playing. Do not ignore characters or stay completely in your own fandom; the point is to branch out and meet new people! We promise, they won't bite. :)
3) You may not godmod or powerplay anyone else's character without their permission. If you have cleared it with the other player and would like to make a joint post with the both of them in it, this is perfectly alright, but make sure you have gotten it clarified with the player before you do anything of the sort.
4) Stay in-character. Please, for the love of all things holy, stay in character. As we understand they are adapting to a new location, please keep in mind how they would react and keep it to that. This also encompasses using proper grammar and spelling (which you should really know anyway).
5) Do your best to not cause any drama or wank. IE: Be respectful. We understand that with a game comes conflict, and sometimes conflict can lead to sticky situations. No matter what has happened to cause this conflict, we ask you to take it to one or both of the mods so we can resolve the issue. No one likes wank, guiez, especially us, so please ask us so we can fix it as soon as possible.
On this note, we encourage each person to have a personal HMD post on their journal. (For those who don't know, HMD = How's my Driving? or a general concrit post). This will help to avoid wank, but it is optional, not mandatory. We may also hold community HMD posts in the OOC from time to time, which are also optional.
6) Post in the correct communities. All in-character posts go in
vardskepp, NOT in their personal journals. OOC posts belong in
vardooc, and logs in
vardlogs. Mod and plot posts will come from this journal, so please remember to have it friended. Also, to clarify, the OOC comm is used for public announcements of hiatuses, drops, introductions, and the like. Do NOT use it as a place to post spam or advertisements for other communities.
7) READ THE FAQ.
NOW. 8) 8) Remember to stay active. An activity check will be held monthly, on the fifth of each month, and will last a week (until the 12th of each month). You must have posted within two weeks of the check, or that journal will be placed on the activity check list. Ideally, we would like you to post once every two weeks, to keep up with interaction, but the checks will ensure you post at least once a month.
9) The character limit is currently set at four, which encompasses OCs and fandom characters. This is subject to change at a later date.
10) IC = / = OOC. Do not allow what you know to slip into what your character knows, unless they discover it from other characters or the ship.
11) If you are taking a hiatus or dropping, please inform us
here or
here. Hiatus' posted on the OOC comm will not be taken into account for activity checks unless they have a comment on that post. The drops is for mod organization :')
12) When you post to the main community, please tag your entries with your character's full name and fandom. This is to help organize and quick-reference posts, especially if a character's name is shared between two fandoms. (It will look something like this- character fandom: character name). We will have a tag cloud that we will ask you to add to when you join, but make sure you remember to do this for all your posts. This also includes posts for the log community, but with logs, make sure all characters participating in the log have their tag printed.
13) Character plots are highly encouraged and welcomed. If you have an idea for a plot, please tell us
here. This can be character-centered or affecting the whole ship (aka; a mod plot or something you'd like to see). We take all comments into consideration!
14) Anything that will have content above PG-13, please put it under a LJ cut and have it labeled appropriately. This goes for anything posted on ANY of the boards, including OOC.
15) HAVE FUN, EVERYBODY. Any questions you have can either be asked of the mods or addressed over at the
FAQ post.
Please, enjoy yourselves, everyone~ ♥
