You should check out the Bamboo Buffet in the strip mall across from Skyline down near Bailey's Crossroads. It's a huge international buffet, half chinese, part sushi, and part southern soul food. The best part is the immense variety in the crowd that dines there.

i've been to that one several times and also their second location in rockville. not a big fan of either one, especially for american food. here's a list of others in the same vein (chinese buffets, usually with dim sum, sushi, and american food). ranked by preference.

green olive in alexandria. has prime rib, lobster bisque, cooked to order ny strip steaks. best american food and most seafood of any chinese buffet i've been to so far. 14.95. black and hispanic clientele ( ... )

The Great American Buffet I've been to (Bailey's?) sucked...about a year ago. Hmmmph. And I like crap comfort food too.

we tried to go to the one near skyline (is that also the bailey's crossroads one?) over the summer, but it was closed for renovations! the one we went to was off of jefferson davis highway in alexandria. address is 5902 Richmond Hwy. though... hmm how deceiving. :p wes' mommers is a frequent eater at the skyline one (she's a HUGE buffet fan), and she didn't know about this location, so it may be new? i was surprised at the quality! (haha, well not like my expectations were that high :p)

yeah, wes was absolutely MISERABLE during the stuffed nose phase! he's generally a very chipper guy 247, but he was downright listless and depressed that weekend.

I can't stand when people call it "dressing", because it makes no sense. It's stufing :P

fluorescent tinged food tends to come out looking pretty vibrant on camera. XD

wes' nose looks sort of... bumpier than normal. :p he keeps on saying to wait until the swelling goes down completely. i don't want to point it out to him that the swelling looks pretty gone. :p
